Large number of Irish supporters were left outside the Stade de Bordeaux ahead of Ireland's World Cup opener against Romania and in danger of missing the start of the clash.
With minutes to go before the kick-off there was a large number of supporters queueing to get into the ground with alot of empty seats seen on screen as the game kicked off.
Reports from supporters on social media said they left for the stadium two hours before kick off but due to the trams being jammed packed and unable to cope with the numbers of supporters they were delayed in getting to the stadium. This left huge queues outside the stadium.
Huge queues outside stadium public transport has failed as trams can’t handle the crowds. Thousands outside right now. We headed for the stadium 2 hours before kick off. Irish fans frustrated but in good spirits. Dreadful organisation. #RWC2023 pic.twitter.com/kb1NuFP9z1
