Irish supporters stranded outside Stade de Bordeaux ahead of Ireland opener

Large numbers of Irish supporters left stranded outside the Stade de Bordeaux before the Ireland World Cup opener.

Large number of Irish supporters were left outside the Stade de Bordeaux ahead of Ireland's World Cup opener against Romania and in danger of missing the start of the clash.

With minutes to go before the kick-off there was a large number of supporters queueing to get into the ground with alot of empty seats seen on screen as the game kicked off.

Reports from supporters on social media said they left for the stadium two hours before kick off but due to the trams being jammed packed and unable to cope with the numbers of supporters they were delayed in getting to the stadium. This left huge queues outside the stadium. 

There was heavy security at the grounds also which many supporters at risk of missing the start of the game.
