Welsh winger being treated for depression

Former Wales wing Tom James is being treated for depression, his club Cardiff Blues have announced.

James has not played since December 31 but is making "good progress" in his battle with the illness.

"Cardiff Blues can confirm that Tom James is currently being treated for depression," a statement released by the Blues read.

"He has been closely supported by the Cardiff Blues medical team and is making good progress.

"Tom's playing colleagues are in regular contact. The directors and management team are fully behind Tom during this period and look forward to his return at the appropriate time."

James won the last of his 12 caps against Scotland in 2016 and has made 13 appearances for the Blues this season.
