Ireland U20 team named for World Championship final

Nigel Carolan has named an unchanged 23 for Ireland's World Rugby U20 Championship final against England tomorrow evening.

Ireland previously defeated England 26-20 in the U20 Six Nations and some of the players will be familiar with each other after meeting in the U18 FIRA European Championships two years ago.

The front-row is made up of Andrew Porter, Adam McBurney and Ben Betts, with captain James Ryan partnered in the second row by Sean O'Connor.

Max Deegan, who has been nominated as player of the tournament starts at number 8, and will be flanked by David Aspil and Greg Jones on either side.

Johnny McPhillips continues at number ten outside of scrum-half Stephen Kerins.

Conor O’Brien and Shane Daly form the centre combination, with the back-three featuring Hugo Keenan, Matthew Byrne and full-back Jacob Stockdale.

Ireland go into this final on the back of previous victories against Wales, New Zealand and Georgia as well as the semi-final win against Argentina.
