Munster winger cited for dangerous tackle ahead of Champions Cup opener
Munster could be without Gerhard van den Heever for their European Champions Cup match-up against Treviso this Saturday.
The winger will have to appear before an independent disciplinary hearing tomorrow after he was cited over a dangerous tackle that earned him a yellow card during last weekend's Pro12 win in Edinburgh.
The potential absence of van den Heever will come as a blow to head coach Anthony Foley, who is also waiting for an update on the availability of several other key players.
Keith Earls has to follow the return-to-play protocols this week, while Francis Saili, Donnacha Ryan, Jack O'Donoghue and Tomás O'Leary are also being assessed for injuries.
In addition, Tyler Bleyendaal's quad injury continues to restrict the amount of training that he can do.
