Flannery took the opportunity to remind O’Connell of his real strengths , commenting: “#NoStudy #GoodAtLineouts #FakeQualification”.

One tweeter wondered if O’Connell’s colourful outfit would make the trip to France with him.

Most just congratulated O’Connell - pleased to see the giant Limerick lock get the recognition he so richly deserves.
