Watch Dr Paulie O'Connell get his honorary doctorate from UL
Check out Ireland and Munster legend Paul O'Connell looking right at home in a kit of a very different kind - graduation robes.
Paulie seems well-recovered from his recent injury and surgery - smiling as he takes part in a conferring ceremony in his hometown of Limerick.
O'Connell's dedication to the sport of rugby is being recognised with an honorary degree from the University of Limerick.
The former Ireland captain is this afternoon being made a Doctor Of Science.
The 36-year-old made a try-scoring debut for Ireland against Wales in 2002 and since then he's earned 108 caps playing for his country.
His international career ended in injury at the world cup last month but he will play next season for the French club Toulon.
Judging by this picture from Jean O’Dwyer, he’s having no trouble settling into his new role.
Bet he can’t wait to take off the headgear though!
