Nigel Owens took time out from preparing to referee tomorrow’s Rugby World Cup final to tweet this clip of an encounter with Jack Whitehall.

The English comedian has starred in a series of ads for Samsung during the tournament - all featuring him meeting various rugby greats and revealing his general cluelessness about the sport.

So it’s only fitting that he meets the finest official currently involved in the game - Welshman Owens.

The two discussed the respect that rugby players show to refs - although Owens didn’t seem to impressed with Whitehall’s imitation of a cheeky player covering the microphone.

“It’s just you and me now sunshine, no-one can hear you scream.”
