WATCH: Devin Toner says Romania will be tougher in lineout than Canada
Devin Toner is expecting a much tougher test in the lineout against Romania than Ireland faced against Canada.
The Ireland second-row singled out captain Mihai Macovei as a particular danger when Ireland face the Romanians at Wembley in their Rugby World Cup match tomorrow.
âYeah, we were saying the Canadians didnât really compete at all and you obviously saw against France that Romania competed really well â the first lineout of the game they stole,â he said.
âTheyâve got Macovei in the back row, heâs a very good lineout operator so, yeah, weâre expecting a lot of pressure.â
Toner, who will be making his debut in the competition tomorrow, that the squad is in a âpretty good placeâ as far accuracy and precision in the lineout are concerned.
Ireland coach Joe Schmidt has made 12 changes to the starting XV for tomorrowâs game.
