Paul O'Connell agrees final terms with Toulon

It looks as though Paul O'Connell's planned move to Toulon has gone through after all.

The Ireland captain was in the south of France yesterday and today where he has agreed the final terms of a two-year deal with the European champions ahead of the midnight deadline for Top14 clubs to register players for next season.

The 35-year-old has signed an initial one-year deal with the option of a second year.

The news of O'Connell's capture comes after hours of intense speculation that the deal had collapsed following a report this morning in Midi-Olympique, which claimed that Toulon had cooled their interest in the player because of a shoulder problem and wanted to wait until after the World Cup before deciding whether or not to sign him.
