Saracens and Stade Français to join Munster as World Club 7s comes to Limerick

Teams including Saracens, New South Wales Waratahs and Stade Français have confirmed their participation as World Club 7s comes to Ireland for the first time this summer.

Limerick will host the event on August 9 and 10. Other teams confirmed to take part are Moscow, Auckland, New York, Vancouver, South Africa’s Blue Bulls and Western Province, and of course Munster Rugby.

The inaugural Limerick World Club 7s Festival is taking place at Thomond Park the weekend before this year’s World Club 7s event in Twickenham with many of the same teams taking part in both.

Thomond Park stadium director John Cantwell said: "This tournament has the potential to become one of the leading international 7s rugby competitions in the world on an annual basis."

Each game has two halves of seven minutes, so the entire tournament between the 12 teams from five continents will take place over two days.
