NZ rugby star gets most amazing goodbye ever from teammates
Not many New Zealand rugby players turn down the opportunity to represent their country and wear the famous All Black jersey, but that’s exactly what ex-Blues and Northland star Rene Ranger did earlier this year.
The marauding centre took the difficult decision to pull out of Steve Hansen’s Rugby Championship squad in favour of captaining his beloved Northland in the ITM Cup and his teammates showed their appreciation.
The Montpellier-bound Ranger and his teammates pulled off a 20-19 victory over Bay of Plenty to climb off the bottom of the Championship table, in what was Ranger’s last game before moving to France.
Judging by his teammates’ incredible performance of their version of the Haka it appears he’ll be sorely missed.
