Ronan O'Gara has agreed a two-year contract to join Jonathan Sexton at Racing Metro for next season.

The veteran Munster out-half is set to take on an assistant coaching role in Paris.

O’Gara, 36, signed on the dotted line with Racing yesterday during a meeting in London with the Parisian club’s billionaire owner Jacky Lorenzetti.

“I have ambitions in the years ahead to coach at a high level and, with this in mind, I can confirm now that I will be joining Racing Metro’s coaching staff in July,” O’Gara has written in today's Irish Examiner in his first column for the paper.

He added that he is “hugely excited about the prospect”.
