Jones and Downey return for Munster

Felix Jones and James Downey return to the Munster starting XV for the first time since facing Racing Metro in mid January, for Sunday’s RaboDirect PRO12 clash with Benetton Treviso at Stadio di Monigo (3pm).

Jones had minor surgery on his knee after that Racing Metro game on January 20th that has kept him sidelined until now.

Downey has also been out of action since that Heineken Cup victory, missing the last two league games with a rib injury.

Casey Laulala returns to the starting XV for the first time since he partnered Downey in the RaboDirect PRO12 match against Ulster in Thomond Park Stadium just after Christmas.

He came off the bench in the subsequent games against Blues, Edinburgh and Metro, but missed the next two fixtures while back home in New Zealand.

He returned to action as a 49th minute replacement for Ivan Dineen in Parc Y Scarlets last Saturday.

Denis Hurely, Johne Murphy, Ian Keatley and Duncan Williams complete the backline.

James Coughlan and Tommy O'Donnell return from the Ireland set-up to make the trip as does Damien Varley who was a late withdrawal from the squad last weekend (knee injury) for the trip to Wales.

Paddy Butler joins O’Donnell and Coughlan in the back row while Wian du Preez and Stephen Archer will keep Varley company in the front row with Ian Nagle and Billy Holland in the engine room.

Mike Sherry has again been entrusted with skippering the squad.
