Munster monitoring injured Murray, Archer and Sherry ahead of Heineken action
Rob Penney and his management are sweating on the fitness of Conor Murray, Stephen Archer and Mike Sherry ahead of Sunday’s Heineken Cup Round 5 meeting with Edinburgh at Murrayfield (12.45pm).
All three picked up knocks in the weekend’s 6-17 defeat to Cardiff Blues in Musgrave Park.
Murray was forced off after just fourteen minutes with a cut lip while Archer limped out of the action with twenty minutes remaining after sustaining a dead-leg but both are expected to be in contention for the trip to Scotland.
Of more immediate concern is hooker Sherry who injured his ankle and was replaced in the twenty-third minute by Seán Henry.
Sherry will have a scan later today to determine the seriousness of the damage.
In more positive news for the province Damien Varley and Luke O'Dea, who both missed the Cardiff game through illness, have recovered and will be training with the squad on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Johne Murphy, who was forced out of the starting XV for Saturday's game after tweaking a hamstring in training, remains a doubt for the weekend’s game.
