Munster winger Johne Murphy may be forced to miss out on Friday’s RaboDirect PRO12 meeting with Treviso in Thomond Park after picking up an injury playing for Young Munster.

Murphy limped out of the club’s Charity Cup game against Garryowen on Friday evening with an ankle injury.

The full extent of the damage is not yet known but he is considered a serious doubt for the visit of the Italian side.

Aside from Murphy, the Munster management have reported no fresh injury concerns having come through their opening round RaboDirect PRO12 win over Edinburgh unscathed.

All players involved last weekend are said to be in contention for a place in this Saturday’s panel.

There were concerns for Casey Laulala in the early stages of the game when he appeared to have sustained a head injury when making a big tackle but the powerful centre was happy to continue after receiving medical treatment, putting in an impressive display in his first competitive appearance for the province.

In other positive news on the injury front scrum-half Cathal Sheridan returned to action with UL Bohemians after five months on the sidelines.

Munster's opponents on Friday, Treviso, opened their account with a win over title holders Ospreys in Stadio Monigo on Friday.
