The Welsh club’s management team will meet on Monday to further discuss the matter, but this evening announced the decision had been made to suspend the 30-year-old Wales centre.

A Cardiff Blues spokesperson said on the club’s website: “Cardiff Blues can confirm that Gavin Henson has been suspended with immediate effect following an incident on the flight back from Scotland after their match against Glasgow Warriors last night.

“The Cardiff Blues management team will meet first thing Monday morning to discuss the matter further.”
