Up to 300 people turned up at the Irish rugby team's hotel in Wellington today to wish them well as they start their journey home from the World Cup.

Dozens more gathered at Wellington airport to give Declan Kidney's men a good send-off after their campaign came to an end at the hands of Wales on Saturday.

It is the end of an adventure for their fans too, who earned the nickname the Blarney Army during the tournament.
