Dolphin’s first home game of the Ulster Bank League campaign went to plan at Musgrave Park today as they overcome Blackrock College.

Tries in each half from wingers Cian Bohane and Kevin Brophy were effectively the difference, with Barry Keeshan kicking the rest of the Cork side’s points.

Attack-minded full-back Andrew Letham broke through for ‘Rock’s first half try, however the Dubliners were outfought in the forward exchanges by the hosts.

Christy Condon, Dave O’Mahony and Robbie Allen were the pick of the Dolphin forwards. They did the donkey work for a Keeshan drop goal which split the sides at the break, 10-7.

The second half was a slow-burning affair, Keeshan and his opposite number Darragh Fitzpatrick both looking to find the corners and get their forwards on the move.

In the end, Brophy’s converted score was enough to seal the points for Dolphin who were gaining revenge for a 21-16 reversal here at Musgrave Park last October.

Scorers:

Dolphin: Tries: Cian Bohane, Kevin Brophy; Cons: Barry Keeshan 2; Drop: Barry Keeshan

Blackrock College: Try: Andrew Letham; Con: Darragh Fitzpatrick; Pen: Darragh Fitzpatrick
