Dragons elect Charteris as new skipper

The Newport Gwent Dragons have confirmed lock Luke Charteris as their captain for the forthcoming season.

The Wales international will miss the opening part of the campaign while on World Cup duty in New Zealand but head coach Darren Edwards says the 6ft 9in giant is the right man to lead the region.
