Simon Shaw believes England must pay more respect to their opponents if they are to avoid a repeat of the RBS 6 Nations heartache suffered against Ireland.

The 37-year-old Wasps lock saw his Grand Slam aspirations fall at the final hurdle for a third time, after twice losing to Ireland and also to Scotland, and hopes England can overcome their own shortcomings ahead of the World Cup in September.
