Second-half tries from Nick De Luca and Nikki Walker helped Scotland avoid the RBS 6 Nations wooden spoon with victory over Italy.

Italy held an 8-6 half-time lead as full-back Andrea Masi scored a try before going off injured and Mirco Bergamasco added a penalty.

But De Luca and Walker scored tries early in the second half and Chris Paterson kicked 11 points as Scotland earned their first win of the 2011 Six Nations and secured head coach Andy Robinson’s first tournament triumph at Murrayfield.
