The IRFU has expressed its condolences to the family of a teenager who died after collapsing during a rugby game in Co Antrim.

The IRFU has expressed its condolences to the family of a teenager who died after collapsing during a rugby game in Co Antrim.

Ben Robinson was playing for Carrickfergus Grammar's Medallion side on Saturday when he collapsed.

The 4th year pupil passed away in hospital yesterday.

His school is arranging for counselling to be made available to pupils.

IRFU President Caleb Powell said: "It was with great shock and sadness that I learnt of the passing of Ben and I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the entire rugby family across Ireland to pass the deepest condolences to Ben’s parents and family."
