Ulster coach Brian McLaughlin hailed his team’s qualification for the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup as a “fantastic achievement” after this afternoon’s 43-6 victory at Aironi.

The province scored six tries to secure their place in the knockout stage of the competition – for the first time since they won the trophy in 1999 – with a bonus-point win at Stadio Luigi Zaffanella.
