Dungannon comeback secures the points
Dungannon 21 Lansdowne 18
Dungannon came from behind to carve out their third successive All-Ireland League win as they got the better of Lansdowne at Stevenson Park today.
Second-half tries from prop Mark Farquhar and centre and team captain Paul Magee drove the Tyrone side to a gritty home victory.
Lansdowne led 6-3 at the break, with their experienced out-half Eoghan Hickey going on to land six successful penalties.
However, it was not enough to prevent the Dublin 4 side from slipping to their third defeat in five league games since their promotion to Division 1B.
Ireland U-20 out-half Paddy Jackson did the rest of the damage for ‘Gannon. He kicked two penalties, a conversion and a drop goal to take his tally for the league season to 65 points.
The result has moved Justin Fitzpatrick’s charges into the top three, ahead of their trip to Bruff in two week's time.
Scorers:
Dungannon: Tries: Paul Magee, Mark Farquhar; Con: Paddy Jackson; Pens: Paddy Jackson 2; Drop: Paddy Jackson
Lansdowne: Pens: Eoghan Hickey 6.
