Buccaneers comfortable against UL Bohemians
UL Bohemians 3 Buccaneers 26
Two second-half tries from Marcus Madden and Connacht's Brian Tuohy steered Buccaneers a deserved win in the Annacotty mud this afternoon.
The Division 1B table toppers were in great form and ran out comfortable winners against a disappointing UL Bohemians side.
It was 9-0 at the interval as the visitors turned their possession into points - two penalties from scrum half Adam Kennedy and a drop goal from 18-year-old out-half Jack Carty.
Buccs, powering to their fourth win in five league games, tightened their grip on the game in the second half.
The Bohs defence gave way as replacement hooker Madden and Tuohy, one of Connacht's heroes against Samoa in midweek, crossed for tries.
Kennedy converted both tries and also kicked two penalties, while UL's only consolation was a penalty from youngster JJ Hanrahan.
Scorers:
UL Bohemians: Pen: JJ Hanrahan
Buccaneers: Tries: Brian Tuohy, Marcus Madden; Cons: Adam Kennedy 2; Pens: Adam Kennedy 3; Drop: Jack Carty.
