Munster coach Tony McGahan has named a preliminary 30-man squad ahead of the game against Australia set for Tuesday November 16 at Thomond Park.

New signing Peter Borlase, who arrives from Canterbury on Thursday, has been named in the squad. Borlase, a promising Kiwi tight-head, has signed a two-year deal with the Reds.

Sam Tuitupou returns having served a seven week suspension for a dangerous tackle that occurred in Munster’s opening Heineken Cup game this year.

There are eight Academy players and seven players on development contracts named in the extended group.

Promising Shannon number eight Paddy Butler is named as is JJ Hanrahan- a young out-half of whom great things are expected by the Munster management.
