Leinster’s CJ van der Linde will move to the Super-14 Cheetahs next season in an effort to win back his place in the South African squad for the 2011 World Cup.

The 29-year-old, who was part of the 2007 World Cup-winning squad, began his career at the Bloemfontein.

"CJ is delighted to have the opportunity of pulling on the Cheetahs jersey again and is looking forward to playing in the Currie Cup again with old team-mates and close friend Juan Smith," Van der Linde's agent Stephan Weyers told South African newspaper Volksblad.

"We are indebted to SA Rugby as they made CJ's move to South Africa financially viable by offering him a contract until after the World Cup."
