Argentina to join Tri Nations

Argentina is set to join the Tri Nations in 2012 after International Rugby Board (IRB) chairman Bernard Lapasset confirmed the body would provide a crucial funding package for the project.

Lapasset said that the IRB had agreed to support Argentina's initial introduction into the tournament with a one-off financial contribution of around US$2m (€1.47m).
