Kearney out for month after awkward fall

Ireland's Robert Kearney will be out of action for one month, missing the Six Nations matches against England and Wales.

He showed up to promotion on crutches this evening and revealed: "I will be out for four of five weeks."

Kearney learned his fate following a scan on his medial ligament strain from an awkward twisting fall at Stade de France on Saturday.

It means Declan Kidney will most likely have to turn to Tommy Bowe or Keith Earls to take the number 15 jersey for the near future.
