Australia international Cooper 'charged by police'
Australian international rugby star Quade Cooper has been charged with one count of burglary by Queensland Police, according to reports.
The 21-year-old allegedly robbed a Surfers Paradise residence this morning. The Queensland centre was detained before being released later in the day.
He is now due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on December 11.
“We are still looking to receive the full facts of the issue,” an Australian Rugby Union spokesman said in quotes reported on www.goldcoast.com.au.
“It’s a matter before the courts so at this stage we can’t make any further comment.”
The news comes just a week after Cooper completed Australia’s mixed tour of Europe. His form as the replacement for the injured Berrick Barnes was seen as one of the few positives to come out of the tour.
