UL Bohemians made a disappointing start to their AIB League Division 1A campaign when Blackrock College came from behind to beat them in front of a 200-strong Thomond Park crowd.

The home side were on top in the forward exchanges in the first half but could not penetrate a solid 'Rock defence.

All that Bohs had to show for their dominance was a penalty by out-half Ed Torrie.

Blackrock started the second half in livelier manner and launched a series of rucks and mauls. Ultimately it paid off when schoolboy star Andrew Conway got in for a try which out-half James Power converted, and there was no denying the Dubliners their opening win.

SCORERS:

UL Bohemians: Pen: Ed Torrie

Blackrock College: Try: Andrew Conway; Pen: James Power
