Thomas Timani, 22, joins next month from Auckland where he was named development player of the year last season.

Coach Michael Bradley has also confirmed talks are underway with a wing forward in a bid to bolster his squad further.

Meanwhile, Leinster will face a strong Scarlets side for their Magners league opener on Saturday.

The Welsh side have included Simon Easterby as well as international new recruits Sean Lamont, Richie Pugh and Rhys Thomas for the game against the European champions.
