McCarthy and Bibo out for Connacht

Connacht coach Michael Bradley will have to plan without flanker Mike McCarthy and winger Liam Bibo for opening game of the Magners League against the Ospreys on Friday at the Sportsground (kick-off 7pm).

McCarthy has suffered a calf injury which could see him out of action for most of September. Bibo is also suffering from a calf injury but is expected to be back in action before too long.

McCarthy picked up the injury in a pre-season clash with Gloucester a few weeks ago.

Bradley said: “He could be out for four weeks, we hope it might be less, but he is certain to miss the opening few games.”
