De Villiers likely to return to South Africa in two years

It is thought likely that Munster's new signing centre Jean de Villiers will return home to challenge for inclusion in the Springbok squad for the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand.

This means he will, probably, play for Munster for no more than two seasons.

“Jean has expressed interest in returning to compete for a position in the 2011 World Cup squad and it is possible that we could once again see him back in the Blue and White Hoops,” said Rob Wagner, on the Western Province website on Wednesday.

“WP Rugby did all in its power to try and retain Jean. We are very sorry to see him go as he is truly a product of the Cape and has been integral to both WP and the Stormers.

“Competing with foreign clubs is incredibly difficult however and Jean had made up his mind.”
