Kidney looks for improvement from Ireland A
Ireland coach Declan Kidney will look for his players to improve against Georgia on Sunday from their win over Canada in order to qualify for the Churchill Cup final, where the England Saxons will be waiting.
"I was particularly pleased at the way in which the side kept in the game on Wednesday and showed great composure to pull through and win. That will be great experience and is something that will stand to them."
"We are continuing to try and look at players who we may not always have the opportunity to work with during the season. The game against Georgia gives us another chance to see how the players fare at this level against a side that will be certainly anxious to put in a good performance after being stung by Canada last weekend."
Kidney has made seven changes to his Ireland A side to play Georgia in Denver, Colorado (K.O. 10.30pm Irish time).
It is an opportunity for Felix Jones, James Downey, and Frank Murphy in the backs; Cian, Healy, Dennis Fogarty, Niall Ronan and John Muldoon in the forwards to impress Kidney.
There will be plenty of motivation for the Irish to exact retribution for the damage done by Georgia to the full senior side at the 2007 World Cup.
