O'Loughlin in fitness race for league final

Shannon captain Fiach O'Loughlin is in a battle against the clock to prove his fitness for the AIB League Division One final against Clontarf at Thomond Park on Saturday.

Scrum-half Fiach O'Loughlin is struggling to overcome a nasty facial injury inflicted upon him in an AIL match against Cork Constitution.

The former Clontarf player is hopeful that he will at least be able to take a place on the bench. If he is absent, David Quinlan will continue to captain the side.
