Leinster's Jonathon Sexton has today been handed a two-week ban for an alleged kick on Munster's player Lefeimi Mafi.

Leinster's Jonathon Sexton has today been handed a two-week ban for an alleged kick on Munster's player Lefeimi Mafi.

The incident took place in the 70th minute of last Saturday's game between the two sides.

The IRFU disciplinary hearing adjudicated today at 4.30pm in Ravenhill, Belfast and was heard under a disciplinary committee chaired by Hugh Logan who was assisted by Stephen Hilditch and Neil Jackson.

The suspension will start from today, and last up to and including Wednesday, April 22.

The player has the right to appeal the decision.
