Victory for Old Belvedere against Ballymena

Old Belvedere gritted their teeth and pulled off a much-needed Division One win in the wind and rain at Eaton Park.

Belvo ended a run of four league defeats as winger Eamonn Fitzgerald's haul of four penalty goals helped them get the better of Ballymena.

Try-scoring chances were few and far between and aided by the wind, Fitzgerald kicked three penalties to steer the visitors into a 9-0 half-time lead.

Ballymena missed two place-kicks through scrum half Craig Woods, one in each half, and Fitzgerald held his nerve to land the only points of the second period.
