Magners League in disarray after Jennings ruling
The Magners League has been thrown into disarray this morning after Leinster's successful appeal against Shane Jennings three-week ban.
The case put forward by the flanker's solicitor - former Irish international Donal Spring - was that the disciplinary committee had no jurisdiction to investigate complaints by the league's citing commissioners.
This was upheld by the IRFU Appeal Committee last night, meaning all suspensions handed out in similar circumstances are now invalid.
The Magners League will have to completely review its disciplinary rules before the competition resumes in five weeks time.
Jennings, meanwhile, is now clear to play in the upcoming Heineken Cup tie against Wasps as a result of the technicality.
Leinster coach Michael Cheika is due to name his team for the Twickenham clash later today.
