Shannon edge out St Mary's

SHANNON 26 ST. MARY'S COLLEGE 20, Coonagh

Division One top scorer Tadhg Bennett took his season's tally to 109 points as Shannon edged out St Mary's College at Coonagh.

Mary's led 17-9 at half-time thanks to tries from winger Conor McPhillips and centre Conor Donohoe. Full-back Barry Lynn converted both.

But Shannon bounced back with tries from wingers Richie Mullane and Marcus O'Driscoll after 49 and 54 minutes respectively.

A Lynn penalty cut the gap to 21-20 but Bennett blocked down a Shaun McCarthy clearance to race through for the clinching try.
