Exiles claim thumping win

London Irish boosted their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals of the European Challenge Cup by posting a convincing 59-7 triumph over Dax in Pool One tonight.

Elvis Seveali’i and Warren Fury shone for the victors, each bagging two tries as Irish claimed a bonus-point win at the Madejski Stadium.

The Guinness Premiership leaders never looked in danger against their French visitors, and further efforts from James Hudson, Delon Armitage, Topsy Ojo and Peter Hewat ensured an eight-try rout.

Jannie Bornman grabbed a late consolation for Dax but it could not take the gloss off a result which extended Irish’s unbeaten run to nine matches.

The Exiles have claimed four bonus-point wins on the spin while Dax remain winless in the competition after four games.
