O'Sullivan backs Kidney as new Irish coach
Former Irish coach Eddie O'Sullivan has expressed his support for the man likely to replace him in the job.
There was speculation last week that Munster supremo Declan Kidney would be formally appointed to the Irish position this week.
However, the two sides are understood to have hit a sticking point in negotiations and observers believe an interim coach may now be appointed for the summer tour.
Speaking yesterday, O'Sullivan said he believed Kidney was the obvious choice for the job and has proven his worth as a coach.
"Should he get the opportunity and should he take it, it would be a very positive thing for everybody," O'Sullivan said.
