Tait chooses Sale Sharks

Sale today announced the signing of Mathew Tait, hours after Newcastle confirmed the England centre would be leaving them at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old is one of three players who will make shock departures from Kingston Park this summer, with fellow England centre Toby Flood and flanker Ben Woods also on the way out.

All three had one year remaining on their contracts and Falcons chairman Dave Thompson revealed the club would receive fees for both Tait and Flood.
