Irish international Isaac Boss has pledged to fight an allegation of rape which he has branded as "malicious and unfounded".

The 28-year-old New Zealand-born star, who also plays for Ulster, was arrested in Belfast last week and questioned in connection with the allegation.

He is understood to have been detained while training at the PSNI's Newforge Lane sports complex in the south of the city.

Boss says he is "devastated" by the "damaging and false claims" and will be "strenuously defending my good name".
