A member of Scotland’s RBS 6 Nations squad has failed a drugs test.

The Scottish Rugby Union have called a press conference for 11.15am at Murrayfield, where the player’s identity will be revealed.

Also present will be Scotland team doctor James Robson and international administrations manager Gregor Nicholson.

The news of the failed test comes during Scotland's miserable Six Nations campaign, in which they have lost all three of their matches to date - against France, Wales and Ireland.

They were beaten 34-13 in Dublin on Saturday and are in danger of finishing with the Wooden Spoon for the second straight season.

Head coach Frank Hadden’s side will face England at Murrayfield in their next match on March 8.

The SRU declined to identify the player involved or to give details of the failed test ahead of the press conference.
