Munster have today avoided a daunting trip away to Toulouse in the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup today, drawing Gloucester away instead.

Cardiff beat Bristol 17-0 this afternoon to top Pool 3 and as fifth seeds, they will now travel to the south of France at the start of April.

They could only manage two tries however, by Maama Molitika and Gareth Thomas, although a bonus point would have earned them a home fixture against the French giants.

In all, the knockout stages will feature three English teams, two French clubs, as well as two from Wales.

Munster are the solitary Irish representatives after Leinster's poor campaign ended in a loss to Leicester at Welford Road yesterday.

Top seeds Saracens will host the Ospreys, London Irish are at home to Perpignan.

The ties are to be played April 4, 5 and 6.
