All Blacks duo sign Blues deal
Former New Zealand internationals Xavier Rush and Ben Blair have agreed new three-year contracts with Cardiff Blues.
Number eight Rush has captained Cardiff to the brink of a Heineken Cup quarter-final place this season, while full-back Blair’s accurate goalkicking has proved instrumental during the European campaign.
The new deals for Rush and Blair follow recent agreed long-term arrangements between the Blues and Wales internationals Gethin Jenkins and Robin Sowden-Taylor.
Hailing the Arms Park influence of Rush and Blair, Blues rugby director David Young said: “I think both players have made big impacts since they have arrived - they have been important players both on and off the field.
“They make a big contribution to helping us move forward, and it’s pleasing to retain two quality players.”
The Blues will be guaranteed a Heineken Cup quarter-final spot if they beat Memorial Stadium hosts Bristol on Sunday.
