Dungannon v Bohs tie abandoned despite delay

Today's AIB League Division One meeting of Dungannon and UL Bohemians was postponed 30 minutes after the game had been due to go ahead.

Bohemians, riding high in third place in the table, were confident that the 375-mile round-trip would net them a win.

But after the teams had completed their warm-ups at Stevenson Park, referee Dudley Phillips decided to defer the kick-off from 2.30pm to 3pm due to the partially frozen pitch.

Phillips admittedly gave it time "to thaw out" but no improvement meant the game had to be called off.
