It’s make or break time says Munster’s Micko

Anything less than a win against Clermont on Sunday will put Munster’s qualification hopes in jeopardy according to Mick O’Driscoll.

The towering second row emphasises the need for Munster to win all their home games in the qualification series.

“You need to win four games, minimum, to qualify. So if we don’t win our home games then we’re in trouble,” said O’Driscoll.

“Mathematically you can’t say that you’re done, full stop, if you don’t win on Sunday but you can say that it will be a very, very difficult to go and beat Llanelli twice, over there once and also go to Clermont to win.

“If we don’t win this game the group is over, we’re not going to qualify. You have to approach it like that,” he added.

Munster have seen some of the best club teams in world rugby visit Thomond Park over the years and O’Driscoll would put Clermont among that elite group.

“You only have to look at last year and the fact that they not only reached the French cup Final but they also won the European Challenge Cup.

“This is going to be one of the toughest games we’ll ever play.”
