Ferris out for up to six weeks

Ulster have been hit with the disastrous news that Irish back row player Stephen Ferris will be injured for up to six weeks.

A knee injury, first diagnosed in June, has flared up since his return from the World Cup.

The Ulster Rugby medical staff have this week decided that it is in the player's long term interest that he is rested for a period of four to six weeks, to allow his injury to settle.

Ferris will miss the first two rounds of the Heineken Cup.
